Enzi

Enzi (エンジ, Enji) is one of the four possible Summon Beasts in Summon Night: Craft Sword Monogatari Hajimari no Ishi. He hails from the world of Silturn, which resembles feudal Japan and is full of monsters and demons.

Just like a cat that becomes a nekomata after living for a hundred years, he is a tiger that became a Toramata yokai (トラマタ) after living for a hundred years. He was called "Hyaku Satoyama no Enzi" (百里山のエンジ). As a result of the incomplete summoning, he lost his spiritual power and turned into something that looks like a cat. He hates being called that by the protagonist and insists that he is a tiger, not a cat. His primary magic is fire. He is the fastest, but his special attacks tend to be the weakest. If he is your guardian beast, he will increase the chances of making a good axe.

He is righteous and caring with a stubborn side to his personality. Also has a narcissistic side as he always says his true form is cooler. He has a habit of saying proverbs. He is proud of his top knot hairstyle and often says "マゲに誓って" (Mage ni chikatte). (Literal translation is "I swear on my topknot.")

Trivia[]

Although Enzi is the protagonist's Craftknight partner, he is technically, in fact, Murno's Summon Beast.
The character designer (Shinichirou Otsuka) wanted to design the Silturn summon beast as a female character at first because they were all males in the previous games, hence most of Enzi's early designs were females.
Enzi's first early design was a ninja girl, second was a girl with cat ears in a kimono, third was a wild-looking girl holding kunais and fourth was a young cat-looking ninja with a katana on his back.
